Betty Taylor West

Savannah- Betty Lorraine Taylor West, 84, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Joseph Louis West, passed away, Wednesday morning, September 9, 2009 at Riverview Nursing Home.
Betty was raised in the Episcopal Home for Girls in Savannah. She owned the Gingham Garden in historic downtown Savannah for many years. She was an active member of the Cassina Garden Club where she found great joy as a master gardener. She was on the board of the Episcopal Home for Girls and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Joseph Louis West; one son, Mark Charles West; two daughters, Deborah West Hall and Marcia Harper Schultz; seven grandchildren, Chase West, Connor West, Jennifer Hall Durden, Robert Hall, Joseph Harper, Taylor Harper, and Miles Harper.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2009, at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
